Kids Say the Darnest Things!

Many times when I tell people that I work in a Kindergarten/daycare, they want to hear stories. I know I have to have a lot, but I do not always remember them. Here are a few that happened yesterday:

One of the boys in my class woke up late from his nap, so when he woke up, I had him come to the table for a quick snack, and then we started working on a class art project (potato heads). It was not until he went on the computer, and I was closer to him, that I noticed he smelled like urine. I asked him if he had an accident. He told me n; his pants were wet but drying. I pulled him aside, told him that I was not mad at him but wanted to know if he had an accident. He told me "No. The water came when I was sleeping." When he was changing his shirt he also told me that he had to go into the bathroom because he "didn't want anyone to see him." His Mom took it as lying, but I thought it was cute.

On a not so cute side, one of the boys in my class asked one of the other girls (5) why she has a baby in her stomach. When I told him that she does not have a baby in her stomach, he asked me why she was so fat. I told him that she was not fat. Let's just say that kids are brutally honest, and I was the one lying.

The other day one of the kids brought up Michael Jackson, and one of the boys in my class (3) replies, "Michael Jackson is scary!"

The rain was nice on a Sunday, but it can go away any time now.
